Woven Productions has named a talented line-up of actors to appear in THE CODE OF THE WEST, bringing this important part of U.S. history alive through dramatic, two-minute film vignettes inside the documentary.
Featured is Frank Noel, a Mescal Movie Set Legend, the long-time Western actor whose credits include Centennial, Every Which Way But Loose, The Chisholms, and Continental Divide.
Joining Noel is another Legend, Emily Blanton, who appeared in Tombstone, Desperado, The Young Riders, and many more. Lynn Steele rides in as an outlaw, with Legends credits including Calamity Jane and Buffalo Soldiers.
Rising talent Chris James Rivera takes charge as the preacher, with film credits snowballing in the past two years, such as The Real Wild West, Among Wolves, Taken from Rio Bravo, and Joe Crist.
Bob McLaughlin (Far Haven and Long Shadows) appears behind the town saloon's bar, as Gary Hecksel (Duster) strolls in as the undertaker. Joining the talented cast is Amber Lee as the shopkeeper, a woman ready to stand tall against the dark forces threatening her town.
Retired law enforcement officers Lilly and Scott Melander were selected to complete the cast in a' life meets art' casting decision.
According to executive producer Peter Reese, 'These chosen women and men turn a documentary into a powerful human connection with history.'
As the pilot for an upcoming CODES Series about compelling people and their 'rules for living,' THE CODE OF THE WEST combines history and myth to identify ten actions found in what's commonly referred to as the 'Cowboy Code.'
Mark Sankey, Director of Media and Marketing, observes, 'Woven Productions demonstrates that Mescal Movie Set is not only a prime location for Western films but a hub for assembling talent to tell compelling stories.'
'The Old West never went away, and there are stories waiting to be told to capture the imagination of the next generations. We're banking on this cast -- and Mescal Movie Set -- to deliver unforgettable characters with memorable places to match,' concludes Reese.
